Connect with an API token
-
In Tray.io:
- Sign in to Tray as an organization owner or admin and go to Account Settings › Tokens › Create API user.
- Enter a unique Name for the API user and set its Organization Role. Only organization owners and admins can choose this role.
- Select the Workspace and set Workspace Role to Viewer, then click Next.
- In the new window, enter a Token name and Token expiration, then create the token.
- Copy and save the token; you will not be able to view it again.
Where to find the other values:
- Region (optional): The Tray app address you sign in to (for example https://app.tray.io).
Tray.io shows the secret only once, so copy it before you leave the page.
The token creation button label after Next was not quoted. Regional app URLs other than app.tray.io were not documented on the fetched pages. Verification: the fetched Users API page does not say which role can list users.
Source: tray.ai, tray.ai, checked 2026-10-07.
The permissions Safeguard needs:
organization admin. Tray.io shows the full user list only to administrators, so this credential must belong to one. Safeguard only reads with it. -
On Compliance › Connectors, open Tray.io, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:
Field What to enter Access token Required. Stored encrypted and never shown again. Region (optional) — -
Click Connect with token.
Frameworks
Safeguard's automated tests read Tray.io and map to the controls below. When a test passes, the result is evidence toward each control it maps to, in every framework listed. It is evidence toward a control, not proof that the control is met on its own.
| Framework | Evidence | Controls | Tests |
|---|---|---|---|
| SOC2 | Automated tests | CC6.2, CC6.3 | 2 |
| ISO/IEC 27001 | Automated tests | A.5.16, A.5.18, A.6.5 | 2 |

These tests are switched on per workspace by the Safeguard team.
