Connect with an API token

In n8n:
- Log in to n8n.
- Go to Settings › n8n API.
- Select Create an API key.
- Enter a Label (for example Safeguard) and set an Expiration.
- On Enterprise plans, under Scopes, select only user:list.
- Copy My API Key.
Where to find the other values:
- Instance URL: The address of your n8n instance (the URL you log in to).
The n8n API is not available during the free trial. Scopes are Enterprise-only; on other plans the key has full access to the account's resources. The docs don't say whether the key is shown only once. Self-hosted API base: https://<your-instance-url>/api/v1; n8n Cloud: https://<name>.app.n8n.cloud/api/v1.

The permissions Safeguard needs:
user:list. n8n shows the full user list only to administrators, so this credential must belong to one. Safeguard only reads with it. -
On Compliance › Connectors, open n8n, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:

Click Connect with token.
Frameworks
Safeguard's automated tests read n8n and map to the controls below. When a test passes, the result is evidence toward each control it maps to, in every framework listed. It is evidence toward a control, not proof that the control is met on its own.

These tests are switched on per workspace by the Safeguard team.
