Connect with an API token

  1. In Vonage:

    1. Sign in to the Vonage API Dashboard and open your account settings (dashboard.nexmo.com/settings).
    2. Copy the API key and API secret shown there. To give Safeguard its own secret, create a second API secret on the same page, so you can revoke it later without affecting other integrations.

Vonage's public documentation does not cover every step.

Vonage documents no read-only API credential; the key and secret have full account access. The exact dashboard menu labels were not given on the fetched page, only the account settings URL. Two secrets can exist at once for rotation. This covers the Vonage Communications APIs dashboard, not Vonage Business Communications.

  2. On Compliance › Connectors, open Vonage, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:

    FieldWhat to enter
API token / Personal access tokenRequired. Stored encrypted and never shown again.
    Base URL (optional)—
Account / Org / Workspace (optional)—
  3. Click Connect with token.

Frameworks

Vonage publishes no API for what these tests check, so its evidence is an attestation: connect it to record the connection, then attest the result. An accepted attestation counts toward each control below.
