Connect with OAuth

Before you start, an administrator of Google Meet must allow third-party apps:

  • In the Google Admin console, go to Security โ€บ Access and data control โ€บ API controls โ€บ Manage App Access and click Configure new app.
  • Search for Safeguard's app by name or OAuth client ID and select it.
  • Choose the organizational unit the setting applies to.
  • Choose the access level Trusted (or Specific Google data to allow only the scopes Safeguard requests), then review and click Finish.
  1. On Compliance โ€บ Connectors, open Google Meet, click Connect and choose OAuth.
  2. Sign in to Google Meet and approve Safeguard on its consent screen. Use an account that can approve apps for your organization, usually an administrator. Safeguard asks for https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.user.readonly, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.domain.readonly, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.device.mobile.readonly.
  3. You return to Safeguard, and the card shows Verified once the first check succeeds.

Connect with an API token

  1. In Google Meet, create the credential for API token / Personal access token, read-only where it offers that.

  2. On Compliance โ€บ Connectors, open Google Meet, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:

    FieldWhat to enter
API token / Personal access tokenRequired. Stored encrypted and never shown again.
    Base URL (optional)โ€”
    Account / Org / Workspace (optional)โ€”
  3. Click Connect with token.

Frameworks

No automated compliance test reads Google Meet yet, so no framework lists it. How connectors provide evidence for frameworks: Frameworks and connectors.
