Connect with an API token

  1. In Figma:

    1. As an organization admin, open Figma in the file browser and select Admin in the sidebar.
    2. Select the Settings tab and go to Access › Authentication.
    3. Click SCIM Provisioning.
    4. Click Generate API token and copy the API token value.

Where to find the other values:

    • Tenant ID: Admin › Settings › Access › Authentication › SAML SSO shows the Tenant ID.

    Source: help.figma.com, checked 2026-10-07.

The permissions Safeguard needs: SCIM API token. Needs Figma's Organization or Enterprise plan. Safeguard's compliance tests for Figma need the credential on the API token tab: an OAuth connection cannot read everything they check.

  2. On Compliance › Connectors, open Figma, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:

    FieldWhat to enter
    Tenant IDRequired.
SCIM tokenRequired. Stored encrypted and never shown again.
    Environment (optional)—
  3. Click Connect with token.

Connect with the MCP server

Choose MCP server: the address https://mcp.figma.com/mcp is filled in. Sign in to Figma when asked. It lets Griffin AI search Figma; the compliance evidence comes from the API token connection.

Frameworks

Safeguard's automated tests read Figma and map to the controls below. When a test passes, the result is evidence toward each control it maps to, in every framework listed. It is evidence toward a control, not proof that the control is met on its own.
