Connect with an API token
-
In SafeBase:
- Sign in to the SafeBase Dashboard as a SafeBase Admin.
- Open your SafeBase Settings and scroll down to the API Keys section.
- Click Add API Key.
- Type a friendly name (for example "Safeguard") in the Description box to identify the key.
- Copy and save the key that is displayed. It won't be shown again.
Where to find the other values:
- Base URL (optional): SafeBase's API reference lists the server as https://app.safebase.io/api/ext/v1/rest.
SafeBase shows the secret only once, so copy it before you leave the page.
The SafeBase API is available only to paid customers on Advanced or Enterprise plans, and only SafeBase Admins can generate keys. The help article describes no scope or read-only choice when creating a key, though the API reference lists a required scope per endpoint (for example organization:view for organization settings); a key covers the workspace's API (accounts, documents, knowledge base, access requests, organization and more). Keys are sent in the x-sb-api-key header. A key can be suspended at any time from the same API Keys section. SafeBase is now part of Drata.
