Connect with an API token

  1. In Charlie HR:

    1. Sign in to Charlie as a Super Admin (only Super Admins can generate API keys).
    2. Expand Company in the side navigation and click Integrations.
    3. Click the API Access tab.
    4. In the box headed Your API Keys, follow the instructions and click Generate the Keys.
    5. Copy the Client ID and the Client Secret somewhere safe before leaving the page; afterwards they are shown only as asterisks.

Charlie HR shows the secret only once, so copy it before you leave the page.

Charlie HR's public documentation does not cover every step.

Charlie issues a Client ID and Client Secret pair, not a single personal access token; the help article does not say how these map to a bearer token or whether access can be limited to read-only (no scope options are documented). Base URL and account values were not documented in the article read. Developer-facing details may be in 'Integrating your product with Charlie' (https://help.charliehr.com/en/articles/9579162-integrating-your-product-with-charlie), not read.

    FieldWhat to enter

    Base URL (optional)—
Account / Org / Workspace (optional)—
  3. Click Connect with token.
