Connect with an API token

  1. In Capsule:

    1. In Capsule, go to My Preferences › API Authentication Tokens.
    2. Generate a new token.
    3. Copy the token and paste it into Access token.

Capsule's public documentation does not cover every step.

Capsule's docs give the page location but not the button label, whether a personal token can be limited to a scope (the read, read write and read_user_preference scopes are documented for OAuth 2), or whether the token is shown only once. Create it as a user who can see all users.

  2. On Compliance › Connectors, open Capsule, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:

    FieldWhat to enter
Access tokenRequired. Stored encrypted and never shown again.
  3. Click Connect with token.

Frameworks

Safeguard's automated tests read Capsule and map to the controls below. When a test passes, the result is evidence toward each control it maps to, in every framework listed. It is evidence toward a control, not proof that the control is met on its own.
