Connect 42Gears to collect mdm evidence with automated compliance tests, switched on per workspace.

Connect with an API token

1. In 42Gears:

   1. Sign in to the SureMDM console as an administrator.
   2. Click the Settings icon (top right) and go to Account Settings › Account Management.
   3. Copy the API key shown under the API Key section.

   42Gears's public documentation does not cover every step.

   The API key is account-wide and stays visible on the Account Management screen. The fetched docs do not describe creating a restricted user or a 'role template with no actions', so the least-privilege user setup for Username/Password is not sourced. The Username/Password step and the Instance URL location were removed: neither fetched source mentions basic authentication or the console URL.

   The permissions Safeguard needs: role template with no actions.

2. On Compliance › Connectors, open 42Gears, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:

   Field	What to enter
   Instance URL	Required. An address under suremdm.io.
   API key	Required. Stored encrypted and never shown again.
   Username	Required.
   Password	Required. Stored encrypted and never shown again.

3. Click Connect with token.

Frameworks

Safeguard's automated tests read 42Gears and map to the controls below. When a test passes, the result is evidence toward each control it maps to, in every framework listed. It is evidence toward a control, not proof that the control is met on its own.

These tests are switched on per workspace by the Safeguard team.
