Connect with an API token
-
In Amazon Redshift:
- Have an AWS administrator create (or pick) a dedicated IAM user for Safeguard and attach the AWS managed policy AmazonRedshiftReadOnlyAccess ("Provides read only access to Amazon Redshift via the AWS Management Console") to it, and allow the user to manage its own access keys.
- Sign in to the IAM console as that user, choose your user name in the navigation bar on the upper right, then choose Security credentials.
- In the Access keys section, choose Create access key (disabled if the user already has two keys).
- On the Access key best practices & alternatives page, choose Other, then Next.
- Optionally set a description tag value, then choose Create access key.
- On the Retrieve access keys page, choose Show (or Download .csv file) and copy the access key ID and secret access key, then choose Done.
Where to find the other values:
- Account / Org / Workspace (optional): The AWS account ID; the IAM sign-in uses "your AWS account ID or account alias" (ask your administrator if you do not have it).
Amazon Redshift shows the secret only once, so copy it before you leave the page.
