Connect with an API token
-
In Trelica:
- Sign in to 1Password SaaS Manager and go to Settings › API Access.
- Select New to create an API app. Add a logo icon and a short app name.
- Choose Client Credentials as the OAuth 2.0 flow.
- Select only read scopes, for example Users.Read, People.Read, Apps.Read and Apps.Users.Read (add AuditLog.Read if you want audit log evidence).
- Copy the Client ID and Client Secret before closing the dialog; the secret is shown only once.
- Click Save so the credentials become valid.
- Request an access token with the client credentials flow at https://trelica.app/connect/token (https://trelica.eu/connect/token in the EU) and paste it into Safeguard. Tokens expire after 3600 seconds.
Where to find the other values:
- Base URL (optional): https://trelica.app for the US region or https://trelica.eu for the EU region, as used in SaaS Manager's API documentation.
Trelica shows the secret only once, so copy it before you leave the page.
Trelica's help center (help.trelica.com) now redirects to 1Password support for SaaS Manager. The API issues short-lived (1 hour) access tokens from a client ID and secret rather than a long-lived personal token, so for this record-only connector the client ID and secret are the durable credential. The admin role needed for Settings › API Access was not stated on the fetched page.
