Connect with an API token
-
In Steampipe:
- Sign in to Turbot Pipes (the hosted Steampipe service) and open the Advanced tab for your developer account.
- Click Credentials & Access in the left-hand menu.
- Click New Token, enter an optional Title, and choose an Expiration (a set duration or Never).
- Reveal the token with the eye icon or copy it with the clipboard icon. Make a secure note of it now: you will not be able to retrieve it again.
Where to find the other values:
- Base URL (optional): Leave blank for Turbot Pipes; not documented on the fetched page.
- Account / Org / Workspace (optional): Your Turbot Pipes workspace handle; the fetched page does not say where it is displayed.
Steampipe shows the secret only once, so copy it before you leave the page.
Record-only connector. Plain Steampipe CLI is local and has no token; tokens exist only for Turbot Pipes. You can have up to 5 tokens at a time; on the Enterprise plan a Maximum Token Expiration setting may limit the expiry. Tokens act with the user's own workspace access (no narrower scope documented).
